About Me

I’m a Korean-American mom of two boys and an east coast transplant now living in Salt Lake City, Utah. I went to grad school planning to teach biochemistry and on a whim, signed up for my first hackathon and had a taste of product development and entrepreneurship. I’ve been in product design and user experience ever since.

For the past 8+ years, I designed high-impact products for various fintech companies, led several small in-house design teams, and helped build multiple design systems. I leverage my science teaching background and love of information architecture to help teams simplify complex concepts and build better, clearer data-heavy products.

Outside of work…

🎨 In the past year, I got more into interior design and home DIY projects. I also obsessively purged and curated my closet after having my personal color analysis done.

🚐 My family and I spend a lot of time road-tripping. Our most recent trip was from Utah to the Redwoods and up the Oregon coast.

📺 I rediscovered K-dramas thanks to Netflix (Mr. Sunshine is my current favorite). I also laugh-cried recently rewatching The Good Place, The Mindy Project, and Schitt’s Creek.

🌌 In the coming year, I hope to go on more solo camping trips and to visit more of Utah’s many dark sky parks.
